Our thoughts create our world. What persists…exists. We ourselves choose our path. Be it happiness or sadness. Buddha stated we become what we think. He said, “when the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.”
When we dwell on the negative spiral that the mind attaches itself to our world then follows this path. We use words such as we are justified in our anger, or frustration. We make statements that we do things BECAUSE OF something that happens to us. I got angry BECAUSE of what you said. I became distant BECAUSE you were late.
Our world is a reflection of this justification. We live in this justification yet do not realize the pain we are inflicting is on ourselves. Buddha stated this best in his comment:
“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.
Life is a choice. Our attitude, our way of being, our entire existence is simply a choice by each of us. Letting our mind control our way of being robs us of freedom, of the love that is bursting inside of us. Choose love.
Call to Action:
- When you are moved to a state other than love, declare an upset, center yourself and breathe deeply. You are not your thoughts, or your feelings. At your core you are love. Choose this path.
- Meditate. Find at least 20 minutes a day of silence. Breathe deeply and clear all thoughts. The more time the better. Do this at least once a day and you will begin to create an entirely new world filled with unconditional love.
